Aligning ESG Strategy with International Standards

Client:

Large, privately-owned global device manufacturer

Opportunity:

A global manufacturer made a public commitment to improve its ESG performance and publicly report to the UN Global Compact. However, they needed a comprehensive ESG data collection process and assessment and an ESG strategy to achieve their goals. Uplift collaborated with the client to develop a customized ESG data collection process, assessment and strategy that aligned with the UN Global Compact requirements and advanced the company’s larger ESG goals.

Solution:

We developed a comprehensive strategy, targets and three-year implementation plan to improve the client’s performance in key areas such as Greenhouse Gas emissions, product and packaging design, waste reduction and human rights due diligence in their supply chain.

Outcomes:

  • Uplift worked with the company to refine their ESG strategy and plan to align with best practices and international standards.

  • Uplift collaborated across the organization to gather credible ESG data and developed an environmental policy and work plan. Additionally, we built the foundational elements of a human rights due diligence process.

  • Uplift developed an accurate and compelling narrative and created the client’s first UN Global Compact report, which was released publicly.

Impact: Advanced the company’s ESG strategy & reporting by improving data collection and assessment, refining its strategy to align with best practices and standards, and creating environmental and human rights policies and plans.
